I am the water of winter seas:
I freeze
And the land frosts over.
I am the wind in cloudy sails:
I hone
The rugged coasts and hills.
I am the bark of ancient trees:
I split
And teem with growth.
I am the poem of my soul:
I speak
And my words
Soar like birds.

My response to imaginary garden with real toads Transforming with Nature’s Wonders
Hannah has brought us inspiration from the local coffee house and the BrainyQuote site. She has asked us to explore topics, authors, images…and allow our choices to transform into words. I’ve chosen a quotation from George Bernard Shaw.
you are certainly a work in progress
much love…

A while back, I wrote a few “I am” poems–so very powerful to identify with forces of nature, to explore similarities/metaphors. Love this!

I love where your quote choice brought you…especially this:
“I am the bark of ancient trees:
I split
And teem with growth.”
Wonderful work and thank you for adding your voice to the challenge!

As all poets aspire to do to fly off away with flying colors. Rightly so Kim!
