Kema-cho, Osaka Prefecture in autumn and a waterfall somewhere around Kema-cho
My response to Carpe Diem #1160 Kema, birth-place of Yosa Buson
Today on our journey through Japan we have reached the region in which Yosa Buson (1716-1784) was born, Kema Settsu Province, nowadays known as Kema-cho, Miyakojima Ward, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture. Chèvrefeuille tells us that nature around Buson’s birth-place is gorgeous and a rich source of inspiration. He has shared two images of waterfalls and says that there are a lot of them, which possibly inspired some of Buson’s haiku:

A very inspired haiku ! I like this “orchestra of waterfalls”. Listening to a roaring waterfall is really a great
orchestra.

Unfortunately we don’t have many waterfalls in this part of the British Isles – it’s too flat!
