A Season of Giggles

all of a sudden,100_1709-4
after muted, dreary days
and dark drawn out nights,
along comes spring,
green buds bursting,
catkins jiggling,
birds singing,
rivers giggling
and bubbling,
and filling
up with fresh water, sparkling
raindrops showering
the dirty browns and greys
of winter days

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille #27 – Giggle

This Monday, De is our host for Quadrille Monday, when we write a poem of precisely 44 words, not including the title, and based on a given word. For today’s Q44, she would like us to giggle, give it a good loud verb voice or allow it its noun-dom. If we add a couple of letters we can turn it into an adjective or adverb: giggling, giggly. We could even write a silly poem, like Shel Silverstein or take it in a more serious direction. We must just make sure we include some form of the word giggle.
