buds in mouth and flowers,
a saporous feast of flavours:
pizza erupts, a volcano
of chilli, garlic and oregano;
zingy ginger tea cleanses
busy gustatory senses;
an unripe plum, quite sour,
not the buttery-sweet ambrosia
of a nectarine or peach,
because
the riper,
plumper
ones were out of reach.

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Tale Weaver No 114 – April 6 – Taste
This week Michael has asked us to consider the sensation of taste. I have re-worked a poem I posted on MLMM back in August 2016.
Great response Kim, I tasted every morsel..thanks for stopping by the tale weaver..

Lovely yummy words. Your words of pizza erupted imagination to salivation! Love the plum words too – the sweet ones out of reach.
Kind regards

I should not have read your poem already hungry! I am on a “no-chew” diet — don’t think I could make pizza soup!
Lovely taste of poetry.

Thanks — I’m having a frozen banana smoothie shake right now. Frozen bananas can be used like ice cream — even make soft banana ice cream. If you like, you can always add chocolate. There’s my “taste” of a comment.
