in the cold mountains
a yak’s wool holds summer warmth
obstinate and true

My response to Carpe Diem #1204 Yaks (another reprise)
In another episode of this month’s journey to Tibet, Chèvrefeuille has revived a previous prompt on the theme of Yaks. He tells us that the Yak is a sign of the primal zodiac, similar to Taurus.
In Tibet the Yaks are used as mules. They can hold a lot of weight and are comfortable to ride on. They also are really great in walking through the rough landscape of the Himalayans.
Lovely haiku, and great picture too.

Thank you, Kristjaan! Yaks were tricky to write about, especially after a weekend exam marking conference!
