She was a leather-clad,
two-wheeled speed-freak,
with a mouth full of swear words and dust,
and a body full of tattoos, bruises and scars.
She wasn’t one for trucks and cars,
or men with smoothed-back hair;
she preferred the scent of two-stroke
and dirt-ingrained fingernails on a bloke,
and the glittering chrome of a motorbike,
the bigger the engine, the better she’d like
to straddle its throb, grip it tightly with her knees,
stroke and twist the throttle, and inhale the speed.

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Saturday’s Mix
Teresa welcomes us back to Saturday’s Mix, where we are exploring characterisation. She would like us to focus specifically on how we get to know a character: through the narrator directly stating information about the character, through their own words and actions, and through the way other characters react to and interact with the character. We can share the story of a person we know or a made up character in 250 words or fewer. It can be prose or poetry. If we struggle to come up with a person or character to write about, we can use one of the images Teresa has shared for inspiration.
Excellent response Kim, the character you painted so clearly…I did like the mouth full of swear words notion I have to say…

Certainly the sign of the times! There are those brave lasses who go out of their way to showcase their prowess in a man’s sport. They accomplish immense satisfaction while not imposing their will on others!

Hot-stuff character you have created here!

A vivid character… a successor to the early aviators, channel swimmers, mountain climbers… and any of the thousands of unsung women heroes. The fact that she rides a bike makes her aces in my book (imagine a gleam coming off one of my front teeth)!

Within the sentence, (…to straddle its’ throb,) take another read. You have originally (it’s). Unless of course I am reading improperly.
