Shakespeare Dreaming

Words fall on fertile ground,
blossoming midsummer dreams
or sprouting mares of thorn and bane.
While the poet’s pendulum swings,
chimera of the mind
whips whirring wings of fantasy
into comedy, romance and tragedy,
borne on feathered quill
to make of what you will.

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille #38 – Dream

De is our host this Quadrille Monday, when we write a poem of exactly 44 words, including a provided word, and she wants us to ‘dream’ together.

    1. Thanks Grace – Shakespeare’s dreams have filtered down into everyday use – we use his words and phrases every day and I can feel his presence when I write.

  1. Your words stand tall, proud & respectful; loved this; great earth-shaking feat to illustrate the prompt. Check out the new TNT series, WILL–more insights to be had.
