Cloud Thieves

The garden’s gaunt with February grey,
even the grass is dirty
this early morning Sunday

and the clouds above are murky,
drifting ragged ghosts
or a witchy hurly burly

racing towards the coast.
One sudden ray of sun
distracts them from their post;

light-fingered clouds gather as one,
purloin the golden coin and run.

My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads Fussy Little Forms: Terza Rima also linked to Poets United Poetry Pantry

For our little form challenge today, Marian wants us to invoke the rule of three in a form that allows for poems that are short or longer–the terza rrima. She has shared wonderful examples by Robert Frost and Adrienne Rich to inspire us.

    racing towards the coast.
    One sudden ray of sun
    distracts them from their post;

    They race to the shore to bring on the downpour. The sun is a spoiler and there goes the rain! Like the sequential process Kim!
