rising glory
entangled vines and flowers
drenched with morning dew

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #20 Revise That Haiku
In this weekend’s meditation, Chèvrefeuille challenges us to ‘revise’ a haiku created by one of the classical haiku poets: Chiyo Ni (1703-1775), one of the few female haiku poets in pre-modern Japanese literature. She is perhaps best known for this haiku:
morning glory!
the well bucket-entangled,
I ask for water
