morning air
shivered with contrasts
of skylark
and raven
raindrop songs rattled windows
in long-ago rooms

My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads NaPoWriMo Micro Poetry ~ Long-Ago Rooms
Kerry says that the object of this challenge is to write poems of between one and twelve lines, in a form of our choice. Our point of departure is the phrase ‘long-ago rooms’, a line from the poem ‘When You Come’ by Maya Angelou.
How gorgeous! (I think I am using that word a lot about your poems.) I like the repetition of the “r” sound, and the way you make it so evocative in so few words.

I always love birds as metaphors. Nice illustration of contrast.

Somehow you managed to combine past and present in 6 lines – that was very well done.
