From an untidy, disorganised
muddle, we unpick poems,
cuddle them close until they breathe.
In a cluttered, haphazard
jumble of thoughts and ideas, words
tumble and line up themselves up
cleaving imagery into stanzas,
weaving poetic sanity from knots
and tangles of the mind.

I like the combination of delicate work and chaos that creates a poem. So true.

oh yes, Kim. You’ve got the poetic process down well here….from befuddled muddle of words to, and always in your case, wonderful sensical poetry! LOVE that last stanza and the image you’ve chosen.

Thank you, Lill! I had a rough night, couldn’t sleep, and woke up with the worst headache and swollen eyes. Once they settle down, I’ll be reading – the poetry will help. 🙂

Yes, writing poetry helps me, also, to make sense of the thoughts in my mind.

The second stanza is a perfect possibility. But it gives the impression things are easy, not so though.

I love this, Kim. This may be one of my favorites of yours. I particularly like the first stanza–which could even stand alone. The “unpicking” and cuddling of poems. And later the weaving. . .
The painting is perfect, too.

There’s a taming going on here; but is it the unpicked poems getting tamed or are they the tamer?

Maybe a little of both…
