I haven’t submitted to Visual Verse in a long while, but I was inspired by July’s image by Franck V.- and my poem has been included! You can either click here to read all of the poems and find mine on page 25, or you can go directly to ‘Inner Robot‘.
That’s an absolutely wonderful poem, Kim, in so many ways.

Ha, that inner robot takes over when our thoughts are miles away. Sometimes it does so when i’m driving, and that is freaky. Loved this poem.

Thanks Sherry. My inner robot kept the rest of my life going while I was marking exams. 😊

I feel like this sometime as well. I seem to be on one track nowadays. I feel like I am operating on my inner robot nowadays. Auto pilot is easier than thinking oftentimes. One step. Another step. Keep moving robotically through the days. I really DO like this poem a lot!

This is gorgeously rendered, Kim! ❤️ Especially love; “I fill a tumbler with water from the tap, struggle first to turn the knob, and now I’m mesmerised by sparkling bubbles in the gush.” 🙂 Congratulations on having your poem published on the Visual Verse! ❤️

Oh, the images your words brew into being, Kim! I especially love the effect of reading the poem while looking at the facial expression of the cyborg. Something in the eyes, in the curb of the mouth, in the tilted head… says, “dead fish and sailors” and so many feels.

Inner Robot is obviously a force to be reckoned with. But how? Hmm…

Woot! First, congrats on getting your poem included in the collection. Second, I got chills at the first two opening lines–the vulnerable humanity shrinking away to let the robot run the show.

My inner robot can be helpful at times, but often robs me of focusing on the present moment. Love this poem! I can see why it was selected by Visual Verse. Congratulations.

I love the idea of the brain being full of dead fish and sailors. Makes me pay attention to my own “automatic pilot.”
