The Summer Clock is Ticking

heat of summer love
smouldering in a rainstorm
passion on the beach

edge of the seashore
among ocean-scented shells
making love salty

a secret garden
perfume of a waterfall
released from hot stones

French kiss stings
a bee in a sunflower
his dwindling shadow

My response to Carpe Diem #1713 Summer Love … a full circle challenge

In the penultimate episode of the CDHK ‘Summer Love’ month, we have an episode of ‘full circle’, in which the goal is to write haiku with twelve given words in a clock-wise direction, resulting in four new haiku.

I really like the way you’ve used the last line Kim — it adds a depth and perspective that is a bit “naughty” (as in, the idea of spicing up one’s sexual shenanigans) … and so, refreshing for the tone and not-usual to see written this way – well done!

and I really like the last one too – the bee’s dwindling shadow, stings + French kiss … lovely pairings offered in a savory way 🙂

A delight and pleasure, this series Kim – 🙂
