Like me,
said the albino magpie
with machine-gun-like chatter,
truth isn’t always black and white,
and he took off
from the tree,
flying free.

My response to Poets United Midweek Motif: Truth
Susan is back for the Midweek Motif, honouring Gandhi’s birthday with the truth. She has taken a quote from the Bible, as well as some of Gandhi’s own writing, along with a wide selection of poetry, to inspire us to write new poems in which readers can experience truth in action.
Lets hope his family recognise him and he can find a magpie mate.
