shiny silver ring
encompasses boundless love
a winter wedding

My response to Carpe Diem #1802 New Beginnings: without beginning
Today’s prompt first appears to be a bit of an enigma or dilemma. It’s related to the (wedding) ring or circle. The circle is one of the most important symbols of Zen Buddhism.
This time next week, my husband and I will be celebrating 27 years of marriage. Back then, we had very little money and, as neither of us likes gold, we bought two inexpensive silver rings a week before the registry office wedding. Although they are a little battered from so many years of wearing them, they are still shiny, and precious to us.
I enjoy attempting the haiku form. Since your ring is silver (not gold), the color in the first line captures the idea of frost, ice, snow–perfect for a “winter wedding”. And the ring, shiny from 27 years of wear, buffed to a good memory. Nice imagery. Thanks, I really enjoyed this.
