twenty seven years
learning new tricks together
richer or poorer
Kim M. Russell, 30th January 2020
My response to Poets and Storytellers United Weekly Scribblings #4 New Tricks
Rommy greets us with a question this week: she asks whether we made any new year’s resolutions and wonders how they’re going. She says It can be hard to make them stick sometimes and that might be why the phrase ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ is so common. She finds that if you can find the right trick, and make it suitably enticing, even old dogs will pick them up.
Rommy would like us to consider that phrase and express any thoughts we have in poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction, keeping prose to no longer than 369 words.
Best wishes to you, from this day forward.

How fortunate to still being learning tricks together. I’ve been alone for almost 40 years, and still miss the times we learned together! Treasure them.
