I never wanted a behind
like Kim Kardashian’s,
no uninvited fuss
about my gluteous maximus.
I recently discovered
superfluous flesh,
and am afraid to go uncovered
or wear a clingy style of dress.
I long for autumn
and a coat to hide my bum.
Kim M. Russell, 24th August 2020
My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille: Shall we bum around a bit?
De is back to dance another quadrille with us, this time using the word ‘bum’, which has a different meaning in Britain to other parts of the world.
LOL! Your Pooh cartoon and poem made me laugh! Thank you for that! I have definitely acquired my own “covid 19,” for sure (it’s like “Freshman 15” but takes much less time to gain.). 😉

As I wrote my quadrille, Queen’s ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ played in my head and has now become an earworm!

No one does. No one.
Love this poem! It’s very brilliant with humorous observations.

Thank you, Lucy! My Kindle infuriates me by automatically adding ‘Kardashian’ when I type in my name!

I have probably lost weight more than gained during Covid… but that is probably more because we eat less when working from home.

I ate more, I suppose it was comfort eating because I spent all day on my own. I’m getting out more now as I’m no longer being shielded.

This is such an elegantly composed quadrille, Kim! ❤️ I must confess I have acquired a bit of a booty myself during the lockdown 🙂

Thank you, Sanaa. 🙂 I’m struggling with my diabetes after being shielded for so long, and I turned to food for comfort. Getting out and about again will help, as will the diet.

Oh gosh, let’s hear for “fat bottomed girls”, and Queen. You planted an ear to ear smile on these old chops.

Thanks Ron! I’ve been having hearing problems, some deafness and tinnitus, so earworms are welcome. It’s Supertramp this morning.

Laughing here too – a good thing on a grey-ish winter’s day. (So Queen owes A.A Milne for the line – wondrous world eh?)
