Fresh Flow

I have fresh longing to go
for a walk by the river,
                      where water flows
                                  like feathers,
                                            last dregs of snow
                                                       melt into mud,
                                            and a swan skims low,
                                  wingtips smacking
                      the surface of the water
           in the viridescent and slow
warming of monochrome.

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille: Going… Going… Gone Poeming

De is back to host this Monday’s Quadrille with the word ‘go’. She asks us to go boldly; go above and beyond; go crazy and go bananas; and, wherever we go, she wants us to write us a little poem with the word GO (or one of its forms) in it somewhere.

  1. This is incredibly incredibly gorgeous writing, Kim 😀 I so love the image of “the surface of the water in the viridescent and slow warming of monochrome.”💝💝
