This week I am staying closer to home for my contribution to Jacqui’s Echoes over on A Cooking Pot and Twisted Tales.
The name of our village comes from a plant that has always grown there – dill. We still have a large clump at the front of our house.

We also have a bay tree, which used to be part of a herb garden but is now growing out of control. I wrote a ghost story about it, which you can read on my web/blog site under the stories tab in the drop-down menu.
Our garden is wild and untidy but we like it that way. Since we have lived here, one beautiful curly willow has become two. I am often inspired by the willows, which our cats love to climb. Our previous cat, Max, who lived to the ripe old age of 19, is buried below the big willow and the spot is marked by a sleeping gnome.
We have a lot of wildlife in our garden, including pheasants and deer.

And we can see boats from our garden gate!

Lucky you. I used to enjoy the Squirrels that came up to my yard back in Houston. Max really lived long in Cat years.

Boats at your back gate !! How dreamy 🙂 And ‘wild and untidy’ is I am sure more inviting to wild life than manicured lawns and gardens. I would opt for the wild life 🙂

In North Norfolk in England, near to the North Norfolk coast. It’s out of the way and very quiet, although Norwich is a thriving city. We’re a two hour train ride from London and about an hour’s train ride from Cambridge.

Wow! It’s such a beautiful and intriguing place. I hope you don’t get to ward of those animals with broomsticks. *smiles*
