I wrote this poem after reading Cheryl Merrill’s blog on the Presidential Elephants of Zimbabwe.
Elephant Skin
Elephant skin
Is a map
Of all the places they have been
All the experiences they have had
Ingrained
Etched
In grey wrinkles,
Rubs
And stains.
With thanks to Cheryl Merrill for the use of her photograph. See cherylmerrill.com

Thanks for visiting my blog! Your poem reminds me that we must continue to grow from our experiences. All of the good, bad and the ugly. Beautiful!
