A quote poem for Friday

Wavering

‘The moment where you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever being able to do it.’ J.M. Barrie from Peter Pan

Icarus,

Although he flew too high,

Never had that instant,

That flashing moment,

Of uncertainty.

He didn’t hesitate

Or question

That he was airborne.

He was the pilot of his life,

Floating, gliding, swooping

Towards the sun –

For the wink of an eye,

He hung

Above the earth,

Before tumbling

In a cloud of feathers

And dropping

Into the ocean.

Feather on water
