Dandelion
The lion’s tooth
Tells me that it’s time,
Its seeded clock a sign
Of season’s change,
Golden florets of summer
Are all gone,
And blowballs
Have exploded
Into full sphere.
Many-seeded fruits
Now waft away,
Puffed on by a child
Or blown by wind,
Parachuting
Onto fertile ground
To sprout
And flourish
When summer
Comes around.
Thanks to Paul Militaru for allowing me to use his photograph.
