Thanks to a radish in the rough

I have written this short poem in response to the prompt from a radish in the rough.

Vespers

Evening’s shadows stole across the room

Darkened windows reflected the inner gloom

Smoke curled upwards from the glowing logs

At their feet lazed slumbering cats and dogs

In the silent cottage night quietly unfurled

They held hands and knew all was well with the world.
