Cat Lick
Illuminated by sunshine
Caressed by a September breeze
The fastidious cat licks her paw
In the shade of the apple trees
Precise and systematic
Starting with her face
She rubs her nose from back to front
Till every hair’s in place
The paw is reapplied
The feline rubs from ear to eye
She licks the paw again
And then she starts the other side.
They wouldn’t let me take a photograph of them grooming, so here is Tosca asleep.

We love poems about cats and their habits but Roxie is not happy because she thinks this is a picture of ZuZu. Have a peaceful Sunday…Clare

Thank you Clare. I’m still in pyjamas! I think I have to get my act together; it’s only because I’m on my own this weekend, but my husband is back tomorrow. Pyjama days are relaxing, though. I might get showered and join the cats in the garden. I hope you have sunshine too. Kim 🙂
