is the magpie. If you read this blog regularly, you will know that I love our untamed garden and the wildlife in it. We regularly have magpies, arrogant and noisy but beautifully marked and charming. Magpies are in a Chinese folk tale called ‘The Little Weaver Girl and the Cowherd’, which I have referenced in the following poem.
Magpie in the Garden
Announced
By its echoing strident chatter
Concealed within the weeping willow
One for sorrow in the jade garden
Curious and intelligent
Solitary scavenger
Shimmer of black and white
Flash of iridescent sheen
Amongst the green
And it is gone
With the golden autumn wind
To join the bridge of piebald birds
That bring together
The weaver and the cowherd
From opposite banks
Of the silver river

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or
something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is magnificent blog.
A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
