The rain forests of Borneo

And Sumatra:

Soundtrack of insects,

Chuckling gecko

And the rustling of trees;

Backdrop of exotic plants,

Butterflies and birds –

To us they are alien worlds.

The long call of a solitary male

Reverberates.

Amongst the canopy of leaves,

A flash of reddish-brown,

A kiss-squeak explodes;

A person of the forest

Swings

Dextrously,

In a constant forage

For food and foliage.
