Beating heart of sea – a haibun

My response to Bastet’s A Month of Haiga – white noise

When I first moved up to North Norfolk, I lived in a small village right next to the sea. I loved being able to walk a hundred yards down the road, up the cart gap where the life boat and fishing boats are driven to the beach, and stand on the top of the dunes, watching the waves roll and crash onto the sand. On calm days, I could stand in the garden and hear it. On stormy days, you could hear it from inside the cottage.

Beating heart of sea

Crashing waves and wind unite

Permeate my dreams
