My response to Carpe Diem Utabukuro #13 “a balloon caught” by Jack Kerouac
I found it so hard to choose, I have been inspired by two favourite Kerouac haiku:
The bottoms of my shoes
are clean
from walking in the rain.

My shoes leave imprints
on the kitchen floor, tracking
joy of summer rain.

Glow worm
sleeping on this flower –
your light’s on.

Glow worms in the night,
minuscule constellations,
otherworldly light.

Thank you! I’ve just got back from visiting my mum who is in a care home for dementia. It’s a six and a half hour round trip and I’m exhausted. What a lovely comment to come home to 😊

I’m very sorry to hear about your mum, Kim. I know how difficult that situation is. 😦 Even more so with the travel distance. Prayers and (((hugs))) ME
