My response to Carpe Diem Special #215 Jack Kerouac’s “white clouds”, where Chèvrefeuille has shared two more beautiful yet somewhat strange haiku by Kerouac to inspire us to create a new haiku, with the aim of capturing the spirit of Kerouac:

White clouds of this steamy planet
obstruct
My vision of the blue void

White rose with red
splashes – Oh
Vanilla ice cream cherry!

My inspired haiku are as follows:

Density of city smog

obfuscates

night-time extravaganza

Pink and yellow

summer honeysuckle – sweet

scented lollipops!
