My response to Carpe Diem Special (3rd guest) Herman van Rompuy’s 2nd “inaugurate spring”
Chèvrefeuille has brought us another CD Special by Herman van Rompuy, former president of Belgium and former president of the EU. Here is his haiku for our inspiration:

toads mating passionately
inaugurate spring

I uncovered a cute little toad while working in the garden a couple of days ago. He wasn’t happy with me and spewed something (toxic) from his little head. Glad the dogs didn’t see him.

I haven’t seen many amphibians this year, which is disappointing. They used to sneak in the back door and we’d find them having a great time in the utility room! Until the cats found them…

Uh-oh! We have lots of toads in the desert and our Jack Russell just “has to” lick them…then she barfs! :0/

Yep. And ours is a little deaf rescue dog. She keeps us active.
