scallop shells in hand
the ancient word on my tongue
the journey begins

My response to Carpe Diem #1116 Saint James Scallops
In today’s episode we have encountered Mme Lourdes, an old woman who walked the Road to Santiago several times and is part of one of the orders of the Tradition, a kind of spiritual society. We also found out that pilgrims to Santiago are called ‘peregrinos’. Along with the extracts from the novel by Paulo Coelho, Chèvrefeuille shared some of his own haiku:
scallops
identifying
a goal
a new path
I seek through the mountains
flowers on my hat

I’ve always wanted to do that path.
