from depths of silence
the muffled tick of a clock
anchored to morning
Kim M. Russell, 2017

My response to Carpe Diem’s Vision Quest revived #1 deep silence
Carpe Diem’s Vision Quest is a three-day challenge to write a haiku in response to a shared haiku, with only 24 hours to respond. A haiku captures a moment as short as the sound of a pebble thrown into water, or in the blink of an eye, which is what Chèvrefeuille hopes to achieve in the ‘vision quest’. Today, our inspiration is a haiku he wrote for the Winter Retreat 2016.
LOVE. Anchored to morning/mooring- genius. I awoke to this poem gradually. It took three readings to really appreciate it fully.

One of my favorite Dali paintings, and subject of one of my poems. Nice.
