tired feet wade in sand
grit irritates oyster eye
creating a pearl
a mirage in the distance
oasis for travellers
Kim M. Russell, 2017

My response to Carpe Diem #1270 desert travellers (Karunesh)
In a new episode of our luster month October 2017 celebrating five years of CDHK, Chèvrefeuille remembers Jane Reichhold and returns to past posts and prompts, including music. This weekend he is inspiring us with a piece of music by Karunesh from his latest album “Sun Within” (2016). The track is called ‘Desert Traveller’.
So deceitful is a desert mirage ! A very successful tanka !

Reminds me of old black and white movies from the 50’s seeing people walk for days in the desert. You have captured it perfectly in your tanka!

Now you’ve made me chuckle because Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion came to mind!
