My response to Carpe Diem #1355 The Sea King and the Magic Jewels (Japanese fairytale)

Although I haven’t heard of the Japanese fairy tales we have read so far, I have spotted some similarities with more familiar fairy tales. I can’t say that about today’s tale, which is called ’The Sea King and the Magic Jewels’ – an unusual story I have never heard of and unlike any other.
