Waiting

My response to FRIDAY FICTION with RONOVAN WRITES Prompt Challenge #9

At King’s Cross
On platform one
Under the clock alone
She checks her phone
And then her watch
Against hands
That sweep red digits
Life’s cleaners brushing away
Seconds and minutes
Tidying the day
Somewhere in the station
A whistle blows
Doors slam
Trains come and go
She is waiting
Time speeds up
When it should slow
Down
To
Infinity
Ticks and tocks
Of essential time
Sink the spirits
Lower
Than wine
When
You
Are
Waiting
