Flexing my creative muscles

Inspired by yesterday’s post from businessinrhyme, I wrote the following poem, where each starting letter of a line is a consecutive letter of the alphabet, from A to Z, a form of acrostic. It was a good exercise for flexing my creative muscles before writing the first draft of Chapter 8 of The Haunted Tide.

Poetic Alphabet Acrostic

 Abandoned airy assonance

Becomes burnished brassy bursts,

Colliding cries, catastrophic cacophony.

Defeated, diving downwards,

Early echoes escape,

Flying far from fabled fricatives,

Gasping, gabbling, ghastly, gaga.

Heavenly hortative humming

Instantly implies impossible imagery,

Juggling juxtaposition.

Kaleidoscopic kooky kismet

Laughs lively lingual libretto,

Musical movement, magical mouth.

Naughty narcissistic notion

Opens onomatopoeic oceans,

Poetic patterns pitter-patter,

Quickly quelling quirky quatrains,

Regimenting, rearranging,

Sorting sounds sequentially

To tabulate this tactless turmoil,

Uncomplicate unanimously,

Vary verses, vanquish verbiage,

Weave words with wise

Xenogamy.

Youthful

Zeal.
