Another poem inspired by an image

My husband took this photograph on one of his trips to Wroclaw in Poland, to see the amazing band Tides from Nebula. Unfortunately, this was before I semi-retired and I was unable to go with him, so he took plenty of photographs to show me how amazing this city is.

 Rising from the Pavements of Wroclaw

 A gathering of figures rises

From the depths of the city,

Climbing invisible steps,

Bursting through concrete

To join us.

People of stone

Wear clothes of times long past;

They have no colour.

They are granite ghosts,

A sad reminder

Of a lost generation.
