Between 24th March and 9th July this year, I submitted the manuscript of my novel for children, Joe and Nelly, to sixteen agents and four publishers. Today I received my sixth rejection from an agent. I am hoping that when agents and publishers say that it will take up to three months to reply, it means that they are reading and possibly considering the novel. Four of the companies I approached in March haven’t got back to me, which is over five months ago, so perhaps there is no hope from them. However, there are still ten remaining. I have my fingers crossed!
Oh no, it must feel ever so horrid. Keep your head up and your pen scribbling down ideas! Don’t give up!

No matter how many rejections you get, keep close to your idea. It’s your own sweat, ink, and blood.
