Darkness and Chills
It’s chilly
Now that summer is gone
There is a sharp edge
That cuts away sunshine
From the monochrome
Photograph of a day
Surrounded by
Permanent penumbrae
Night seems endless
Morning meaningless
Deafening darkness
Seeps into my bones
It’s chilly

it’s been chilly for me too… at least the nights have been.

Penumbra is an area covered by the outer part of a shadow, so that it is not completely dark. During a partial lunar eclipse, a portion of the Moon’s disk remains within the penumbra of Earth’s shadow while the rest is darkened by the umbra. The word can also be used as a synonym for shadow. Penumbrae is the plural form.
