It has the cadence of a wind’s caress,
Conjuring up a far-flung landlocked sea,
Inhabited by turtles, gulls and terns,
Its salty waters lapping endlessly
On fragments of ancient Persian tribes.
An echo of childhood stories, for me,
A wardrobe door to a magical world,
A princely name from Lewis’ fantasy.
Music echoing with ambient sounds,
Dust and disquiet, beat and euphony;
Drums and dynamics bloom and bough,
One note evolves into polyphony.
In waves of consonance and dissonance,
Caspian’s deep oceans of concrescence.

Thank you, Eilish. I’m sorry I couldn’t accompany David to Italy to see them this time, but I just don’t travel so well these days. But the gig in Brighton was brilliant.
