Transient tonic
In the darkest months
One a brash American
Seductress with sunshine
Ribbons of petals
The other a coy Oriental
Adorned with twisted threads
A rainbow
Of purple, red, orange and yellow
Announced by a haunting hint
Of citrus and spice
A frozen breath of incense
On a still winter day
