My response to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie Photo Challenge # 97

I’ve never been to California
Probably never will
Never seen a California poppy
Or touched its orange silk
But I can imagine a sea
Of California sunshine
Bright enough to warm me
Make me smile
In a small English village
On a grey winter day

😀 Lovely response Kim!
Indeed – the sunny brightness of the image can lead us to places unseen – perhaps traveled to only in our dreams – but you have brightened my day – altogether grey, dreary – snowy-rain mix.
thanks for sharing at the photo challenge

Thank you, Pat. When I first looked at the image I had no idea where it would take me. Then I remembered what kind of poppy it was! It’s thanks to my grandfather that I have a little knowledge of plants. I used to love looking at his gardening books.

I think the image might pose some initial head scratching …. but you’ve done a fine job with it 🙂
