Arcadia

A poem inspired by Barb Mann’s picture

 

Safe in the embrace

Of the horizon

Poetic shaped space

Where sea meets sky

Far from the beach

Where surfers land

Below clouds

Where seagulls fly

Mermaids lilt siren songs

Silvery seashell melodies

Rise from their lungs

Burst above the crash of waves

Marry with nature’s harmonies

Singing of their longing

For the exquisiteness

Of the mountains

And unspoiled wilderness

Of Arcadia
