My response to the Tercet challenge with Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie B&P’s Shadorma and Beyond
Jackdaws sailed in on a brisk breeze
Descending on bare branches of tall trees
(Paused in black parentheses)
Jackdaws flocked in drizzly weather
Yapping and flapping off together
(Sharp of beak and ragged of feather)
Jackdaw lovebirds entwined and perched
Like gargoyles on a nearby church
(Sinister spring heralds in the silver birch)

This is a very original write and i like the flow of it plus, I don’t think I’ve ever read a poem dedicated to jackdaws. Nicely done, and thanks for linking up with us.

There is one poem I know of called The Jackdaw of Rheims by a 19th century poet, Richard Harris Barham. We had to recite lines of it when I was at junior school.
