Rain in the Valley

Rain Over Rovereto by G.s.k.

Sticky with kisses of raindrops

Town overflows with red rooftops

Splintering like slabs of toffee

In Vallagarina valley

Silent bells of the church tower

Ghostly pealing of the hour

Filling every square and alley

A storm’s brewing in the valley

Mountains choke with fermenting cloud

Thunder threnody echoes loud

Waiting for a lightning volley

Heavy clouds burst in the valley

Umbrellas mushroom in the streets

For early errands cannot wait

Getting wet is not a folly

For those who live in the valley

Sticky with kisses of raindrops

In Vallagarina valley
