My response to Carpe Diem #944 willow – the technique of literary reference
A poet whose writing I really admire is Seamus Heaney and one of my favourite poems by him is ‘Storm on the Island’, which I have used as my literary reference.
Wind roars in marram
Raising a tragic chorus
Whistling in the dunes
Waves explode on nearby sand
