harnessing the wind
in the hollow of bamboo
airy melody
coaxed by tips of fleet fingers
and kiss of flute player’s lips

My response to Carpe Diem’s Universal Jane #1 Introduction “all my years”
Chèvrefeuille has brought us the first episode of a new tribute special feature for Jane Reichhold to stay in contact with her spirit and to keep her beautiful mind, her beautiful poetry and all her knowledge alive. He hopes to create a special episode every Wednesday, in honor of and as a tribute to Jane, sharing haiku, tanka, articles and her wonderful art-work to inspire us.
In this first episode we have a few haiku written by jane that Chèvrefeuille recently found:
Flutes
echoing each other
two crows
winter solitude
the cat washes again
the tip of her tail
love songs
in the flute player’s face
grief
all my years
floating in the river
a childish heart
a new language
written in my oldest books
mildew

For a prompt, Chèvrefeuille has asked us to listen carefully and let the music of the Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) inspire us.
Fabulous!

Thank you, Janice. I liked this prompt, as much as the art tool prompts.

Awesome … I can feel the scene, I can sense the fragile beauty of the sound of the Shakuhachi.

Thank you Kristjaan! I was busy all day yesterday so I’ve only just seen this and I think I might have some writing to catch up with – can’t wait to see the most recent prompts!
