in bursts of spring rain
young leaves embrace liquid life
awakening buds
on a mountain peak
a cloud of silence settles
a monk deep in prayer
river symphony
rippling on the summer breeze
she dances alone
flakes of falling snow
cover the tracks of sparrows
whitewash a blue sky

My response to Carpe Diem Full Circle #2-2016
Today it’s the second of three Carpe Diem Full Circle episodes, where the aim is to write haiku with the twelve words provided by Chèvrefeuille: a kind of word-whirl, in which we use the words in the given sequence, in a clock-wise direction, a word for every ‘hour’ – a total of four haiku.
Oooh, so pretty! I really like the last one.
Love this unexpected line: “a monk deep in prayer”
“she dances alone /
flakes of falling snow” … I really like how these two lines flow together. Also, I’m picturing her dancing alone, but still kind of in accompaniment with the river symphony. Almost like unaware of each other, or not intentionally playing together, but still, they fit. I don’t know if that makes sense … I just mean that it’s a natural connection rather than a forced, intentional connection. Anyway, that’s what I see. 🙂 Beautiful work!

How refreshing! You have not only read my haiku , you’ve also interpreted them, which gives me immense satisfaction. Thank you! 🙂

This reads like a prayer of the seasons. Truly lovely and peaceful. Sigh.
