My response to Carpe Diem Tanka Splendor #8 dragonfly
Following the introduction of the third Tanka Writing Technique by Teika ‘Elegant Beauty’, Chèvrefeuille has chosen ‘dragonfly’ as today’s prompt, for which he has found examples of tanka with dragonflies in them, as well as Tan Renga:
two trees meet as one
two dragonflies dart past them
through an empty branch
over water and oars drip
as they transcended darkness
a dragonfly
above the reeds
motionless
but for the wild blues
it vibrates in the sun
shamanic journey
a red dragonfly comes
to guide the canoe
ancient wisdom unfolds
becoming one with the dragonfly

glittering blue
above empty riverbed
wings of dragonfly
through the mist, the croaking of frogs;
soon the riverbed will be full again

The blue and green… blush is a nice touch.
(btw… I think you’ll want to check the link you left at Carpe Diem)
