How many poets and songwriters
Have written about the parting of the ways?
What about the time when they first meet,
When eyes lock, lips touch, fingers tangle
As you wander together down the same street?
The only signs you need are body language,
Exploration of thought and tongue,
Locked in a metaphysical conversation
Where boundaries are set by you alone,
Together on the crossroads of correlation.

My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads: The Cross-roads ~ Micro Poetry
I only got back from Poland on Saturday, so I didn’t get around to this prompt until today, when I will be putting the ‘mini’ back into the Sunday Mini-Challenge by writing a poem in no more than 10 lines. Kerry has given as a frame of reference ‘The Cross-roads’ quoted from Kwesi Brew’s poem, The Mesh, together with a link to AllPoetry.com where more of his work is available to read.
The Mesh, Kwesi Brew, Ghana
Locked in a metaphysical conversation..
I really like the thought behind this line. It is more about the meeting than the parting – I do agree.

This is a mine for rich lines, Kim. I love the one Kerry quoted… and smiled at “Exploration of thought and tongue,” and all that it allows the mind to imply.

Oh yes, a crossroad is so much about to coming together, the parting is so often our focus, but why part if we never met… it would be parallel roads.

I remember the fire at the first crossroad. We still carry the flame, but it doesn’t create the same heat.
